1 Saga Prefectural Kyushu Ceramic Museum 佐賀県立九州陶磁文化館
A ceramics museum located in Arita, Saga, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain. It houses and displays a collection of 30,000 pieces, including ceramics from across Kyushu and works by contemporary ceramic artists. The museum introduces the history of Arita ware through masterpieces and digital presentations. The Mr. & Mrs. Shibata Collection, one of the world’s foremost collections of Edo-period Arita ware, is a must-see.
日本磁器発祥の地である佐賀県有田町にあるやきもの専門のミュージアム。九州各地の陶磁器や現代陶芸作家の作品など約3万点を収集・展示。数々の名品とデジタル映像で有田焼の歴史を紹介するほか、江戸時代の有田焼の世界有数のコレクションである柴田夫妻コレクションは必見。

2 Saga Prefectural Nagoya Castle Museum 佐賀県立名護屋城博物館
This Museum explores the history of Nagoya Castle, where 160 warlords from across Japan gathered 430 years ago. The museum presents research on the castle and surrounding military encampment ruins, and features a faithful reconstruction of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s Golden Tea Room , which visitors can enter for a unique experience found nowhere else in the world. Outside, visitors can also explore the ruins, including the impressive stone walls.
430年前、日本中から160もの武将が集った名護屋城。博物館では城跡・陣跡の調査成果を展示。豊臣秀吉がこの地でも愛用した「黄金の茶室」を忠実に復元して展示し、実際に入れる世界で唯一のプレミアムな体験も提供。館の周辺では壮大な城跡・陣跡や石垣にも触れることができます。

3 Saga Prefectural Space and Science Museum 佐賀県立宇宙科学館
Saga Prefectural Space and Science Museum is a comprehensive science center themed around “Space, Earth, and Saga,” where visitors can see, touch, and think. Popular attractions include Gravity Jump, which lets visitors experience the gravity of the Moon and planets. The museum is set amid lush greenery, with nearby waterside recreation and scenic walking paths.

4 Saga Prefectural Castle History Museum 佐賀県立佐賀城本丸歴史館
Saga Castle History Museum invites visitors to step inside a restored castle residence more than 150 years old. One of Japan’s largest reconstructed wooden buildings, it features expansive tatami-matted spaces, including a 45-metre corridor and a grand hall over 500 square metres. Exhibits bring Saga’s history and notable figures to life using the latest technology.
150年以上前の城（御殿）を体感できる佐賀城本丸歴史館は日本最大級の木造復元建築。全長45メートルもの長い廊下や 500m2 を超える大広間などの ”畳” の大空間は、海外からの訪問客を含め多くの方を魅了し続けています。佐賀の歴史や偉人の活躍を、最新技術も活用して分かりやすく展示。

5 Saga Prefectural Museum 佐賀県立博物館
Saga Prefectural Museum offers a comprehensive look at nature, archaeology, history, art, crafts, and folklore. An ideal first stop for discovering Saga, the museum introduces the formation of the region’s landscape, showcases precious archaeological artifacts and the highly acclaimed “Hizen swords” of the Edo period, and presents distinctive fishing gear from the Ariake Sea.

6 Saga Prefectural Art Museum 佐賀県立美術館
Saga Prefectural Art Museum showcases modern and contemporary art connected to Saga. Through various exhibitions, visitors can enjoy masterpieces by Okada Saburōsuke, a master of bijin-ga (portraits of beautiful women); Ikeda Manabu, known for intricate worlds created through meticulous pen drawings; and world-renowned designer Tokujin Yoshioka.
佐賀県ゆかりの近現代美術を紹介する美術館。美人画の名手として知られた日本近代洋画の巨匠・岡田三郎助の作品や、ペンによる緻密な描写から壮大な世界を描出する画家・池田学、世界的デザイナーである吉岡徳仁の作品などを、折々の展示によって楽しめます。
